Dawson Men Add Athletic Wing/Forward
DeAngelo Horn is the latest signing for the Dawson men’s basketball program.
Coach Joe Peterson shared his perspective, “DeAngelo adds depth, versatility and athleticism to our team. He can play multiple positions on both ends of the floor and really has a ton of potential to develop his skills even more and be able to play at a high level. He will fit really well with our returning players and will be a great fit for our system.”
The athletic 6’6” wing/forward comes to Montana from Rock Canyon High School in Colorado. Horn earned First Team All-Conference honors by averaging 12.5 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game in his shortened senior year. Rock Canyon competes in Class 5A and finished 10-5 on the season, making it to the Elite 8 in the state tournament before losing to the defending state champions, Rangeview.
Rock Canyon Coach Kent Grams described his player, “He is the best athlete that Rock Canyon has ever had and even though we only had him for one year, he made a huge impact on our culture. He is one of the best teammates and most unselfish players I have ever coached.”
Horn also starred for their football team after transferring in from Smoky Hill High School.
He explained his decision, “I decided to go to Dawson because of the way the coaches care about getting kids out and has a good relationship with the players. It seems like a good environment for me to be a part of.”
