DCC Athletics Preparing for Next Hall of Fame Class
Dawson Community College is busy preparing for another Hall of Fame Class. They are accepting nominations from anyone who knows of a deserving individual or team. The nomination form is online at https://dawsonbucs.com/sports/hof/Hall_of_Fame_Nomination_Form.
Anyone who was nominated previously will be reconsidered for three subsequent years and then will go inactive if not selected by that time. They can be re-nominated again in the future.
The Buccaneer Athletic Hall of Fame was created in 2018 to give appropriate recognition to individuals and teams who have made outstanding contributions in intercollegiate athletics at Dawson Community College while reflecting the positive values and traditions of the institution.
Dawson has inducted five classes thus far:
Class of 2019- Don Kettner, Brad Pauley, Tom Ree, and the 1981 Rodeo Team
Class of 2020- Gary Baumann, Dr. Lois Steele, Kaila Fowler-Clarke, and the 2001 Baseball Team
Class of 2022- Paul Fasting, Albert Clifford Foote, Dennis Perryman, 1970-71 Men's Basketball Team
Class of 2023- Brent Diegel, Don Mast, Larry Peabody, and the 2001 Softball Team
Class of 2024- Doug Frederick, Greg Barnett, Mike Wilondek, Cheryl Van Dusen
Class of 2025- Matt Preusser, John Beard, Trish Halvorsen, Tawnya Vernon and the 1994-1996 Women's Basketball Team

There are four categories for nominations:

Student-athlete- eligible 10 years after their final season at DCC and must have left in good standing.

Coach or Athletic Director- eligible five years after their final season at DCC

Contributor- someone who has shown outstanding service with longevity for DCC athletics

Team- eligible 10 years after the season they competed
The Hall of Fame is a part of DCC's mission to foster a culture of excellence, and the college is excited to honor the individuals and teams who have achieved excellence in athletics over the past 68 years.
