The Lady Buccaneers of Dawson Community College are on the brink of making it to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament for the first time in school history. However, Kirkwood Community College of Cedar Rapids, IA is standing in their way. Dawson, ranked #18 in the nation will need to beat #7 ranked Kirkwood in Game 3 of the District Championship series on Thursday at 12:00 pm at BL Baker Memorial Field on the campus of Dawson Community College.
The teams split the opening two games of the District H Championship series on Wednesday. Dawson won in the first game 1-0. Trinity Anderson was 2-4 and scored the game winning run.
In the second game, Kirkwood made their presence known and dominated the Lady Bucs 12-3, forcing a decisive third game Thursday.
