The Lady Bucs were able to win their second home game of a 3 game back to back weekend series over Rocky Mountain College JV.
While it seemed to be a very close game with a score of 17-17 at the end of the first quarter, DCC made it known very quickly they wanted the game to be handled in their favor. The Lady Bucs outscored Rocky Mountain 20-10 in the second quarter, with a score going into halftime 37-27. The Lady Bucs continued the scoring punch, finishing the game winning 80-60.
Once again, with an opponent scoring in the high 20’s, Rocky Mountain’s Morgan Mitchell’s 28 point performance did not disturb DCC’s attack. After an earlier 22 point performance against Salish Kootenai, Julia Robarge exploded further with a double double, scoring 23 points and grabbing 14 boards. Alexius Foster scored 17 points and had 8 rebounds. Emily Harwood got back into double digit scoring with 15, and Lexia Bell-White was not far behind, scoring 14 points and 3 assists. MacKinzie Verke continued to dish out in high numbers with another game high of 7 assists.
“It’s really good to defeat a team that plays with hustle. That showed us that we can outhustle our opponents if we decide to. I was really pleased to see a packed scoring punch from our players that are expected to do so,” commented Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr.
Women’s Basketball will face off against their in-state rival Miles CC this Wednesday, November 15 at 5:30 pm at the Toepke Center in Glendive. This will be the first of a two game series in the Battle of the Badlands.
