In his last official high school game before starting his college basketball career at Dawson Community College, Arlee High School standout, Tyler Tanner, competed last weekend in the annual Midland Roundtable Montana-Wyoming All-star basketball games. He helped the Montana All-Stars sweep Wyoming, winning 93-78 on Friday night in Sheridan and then 100-71 on Saturday night in Billings.
The previous week, Tanner was named the Offensive MVP in the 34th Bob Cleverly Class C All-Star Football Classic. His transition from football All-star to basketball All-star got off to a rough start. He got sick after the football all-star game ended, but said there was no way he was missing the opportunity to play with the best basketball players in Montana and Wyoming in the Midland Roundtable Classic. Plus, he was the only Class C representative so he didn’t want to disappoint.
Tanner managed only 4 points in the first game, but then contributed 8 points in the second game, helping his Montana team win their 12th straight in the series against their rivals to the south. Tanner will be attending Dawson Community College in the fall and playing for the Buccaneers basketball team.
